What is Semi-Permanent Makeup?
Semi permanent make up is often referred to as cosmetic tattooing. It is the implantation of coloured pigments, using a small vibrating needle that implants no more than 1mm under the skin. The pigment is implanted much lighter than a conventional tattoo allowing a natural fade so that your semi permanent make up can be altered in colour and shape if required over time.
It can create definition and symmetry and is suitable for anyone of any age group. It’s great if you have little or no time to apply make-up, have a lack of definition or have suffered brow or lash loss through cancer or alopecia. Semi permanent make up usually lasts around 1-3 years dependent on your skin type and how well you look after the area and needs to be topped up yearly to keep the colour fresh.
Eyebrows
Semi permanent eyebrows Include two treatments, your first one and a top up appointment 4-8 weeks after. This is to allow your brow to fully heal the Pigment before your touch up. They are great for anyone who has uneven or over plucked brows, has sparse or fair hair, or constantly has to fill their brows in with make-up. It really does change the appearance of your face by adding symmetry, lift and colour to the brow area.
As we age, our brow tails drop and semi permanent make up can be used to create a higher brow making this an extremely anti-aging treatment. It’s also great if you workout, gym or swim as your brows will always be in place no matter what you do. Waking up with your brows in place is life changing!! No more spending hours in front of the mirror trying to make them even!

Hairstroke brows are Little hairstrokes that are Individually applied and used to mimic the hair growth of your natural brow. Ombré brows are a soft filled in brow with an airbrushed finish.
Nothing will be tattooed on until you are absolutely sure and happy with the shape of the brow which will be pre drawn for you in pencil. I always work softer and lighter on the first treatment so that you can get used to your new brows and then when you return for your top up appointment we can discuss further if you would like any shape alteration or a darker colour.
Eyeliner / Eyelashes
Semi permanent Eyeliner is carried out over two treatments, the first one and then a top up 4-8 weeks later. This allows the pigment to heal fully in the skin before perfecting it in the second treatment. It is perfect for anyone who wants a more defined eye or suffers with watery eyes from allergies.
The pigment is placed in between each individual eyelash and just above the lash line to give the illusion of a thicker row of lashes. It can be applied on the upper and lower lash line dependent on what look you are trying to achieve. It is also a great pre chemotherapy treatment or if you suffer from alopecia and have lost your eyelashes as an eyeliner can give the impression of a soft lash line.

Lip Blush
Lip blushing is perfect if you want your lips to look fuller without the use of injections or cosmetics. This treatment alters the colour and shape of your lips, creating a border for your lip line giving the appearance of volume and younger looking lips.
As we age our lips loose their definition especially around the Cupid’s bow, ombré lip blushing corrects this by giving you back fullness and symmetry in your desired shade.
Colour Boost
Colour boosts maintain and freshen your semi-permanent make-up. The pigments used in your eyebrows, eyeliner or lips is designed to fade so that the colour does not blur under the skin over time. It is recommended that you have a yearly colour boost to restore the perfect colour and definition. Colour boosts are priced according to how long ago your previous procedure was carried out.
Healing and After Care
Healing your semi-permanent make-up is the most important stage of all of the procedures. It takes around 4-6 weeks for the area to fully heal the pigment and touch ups can not be carried out until this time. This process can seem quite scary as you will see many changes along the way.
Most clients colour will fade by around 30%-50%. This is due to your body naturally wanting to push the pigment out when healing. With this in mind you will always leave the salon feeling that the pigment colour is too dark. Once the area starts to heal it will dry out and flake, your colour will then fade, sometimes to almost nothing as the new skin heals underneath. Your colour will slowly come back as the dead skin cells reveal your healed colour.
It is so important not to pick, or disturb the area as this can cause colour retention problems leaving you with gaps with no pigment and you must always try to keep it as dry as possible. Touch up appointments allow us to assess how much pigment you have retained and decide if we need to deepen the colour.
